This body of work is inspired by fungi and lichens. Using simple porcelain forms as a base, I then add hand-rolled pockets of clay in clusters which are then filled with her signature Egyptian Faience mixture (a material made with clay and glass ingredients). The faience is free to melt, move and even drip when brought to high temperatures in the kiln, producing an organic and unique result every time.
