'Let Looze' 2020
 
‘Let Looze’ was created in response to the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, as restraints were just starting to ease in Northern Ireland. The artwork includes five porcelain ‘bricks’, a symbol that relates to home. For most of us, home suddenly became a confined environment, for others home became a precious refuge, a space that needed protecting from the outside world like a porcelain tea cup behind a glass cabinet. The Egyptian Faience that is slowly ‘oozing’ from the bricks represents this tense, prolonged journey that we have all gone through together; eventually we will all come through to the other side.
